The Disc Golf Committee has completed it’s community outreach efforts. On June the 26th an open house and clinic was held on site. We had over thirty participants and our councillor also attended. He walked the course with one of our members and at the end said he did not have a problem with the course layout and design. On July the 7th we held a webinar and presented the final layout and history of the course to about 16 community residents. The webinar PowerPoint is now posted on the ECA website and can be viewed. From July 7th through the 10th we held a community wide survey. We had 45 responses and all but two Edgemont residents approved of developing the course as planned. This combined with the over 40 letters of support from residents indicate overwhelming support for building a family friendly par 3 Disc Golf course in Edgemont.
The Disc Golf Committee made the following motion and it was carried by the board.
We recommend that the ECA proceed with the development of the Disc Golf Course at John Laurie Park beginning with installation of baskets and signage this fall and completing next summer with installation of T-pads.
