It’s been a busy winter at Mother Mary Greene School!
MMG is thrilled to be one of three elementary schools chosen to participate in a program called “Let’s Create an Opera”. Students are working with a librettist, composer and director from Calgary Opera to create and perform their very own show. In November we had our opera reveal, and we are proud to announce “The Golden Unicorn” which will be performed in June. Auditions were held in January and the musical score is near completion.
The Friends of MMG Playground Committee has been working hard to begin the fundraising process for a new playground when our old one is removed in 2021. We have initial proposals highlighting costs of up to $200,000. There are a few ways you can help:
- Check out FlipGive.com and join our team! This is an online fundraising platform which gives incentives for your online purchases and comes at no cost to you. Our team code is ND3RJG.
- Bottles (labelled Mother Mary Greene) can be dropped off at Nosehill Bottle Depot and Spyhill Bottle Depot.
- We are looking for companies who would consider donating materials or assistance (such as cement or excavating).
